Learning at Basket Range
Dynamic curriculums that meet individual needs.
We believe that as a small school with two streams we offers many advantages and provide a more personalised learning experience. Our families and local community support each other and work together with staff to provide a caring, nurturing community for our children.
We are committed to maintaining small class sizes with average classes of 15.

What’s been happening at our school?
History
Basket Range Primary School has been at the heart of its community since it was founded in 1885. It's first Headteacher was a Michael McDonough who began with just nine students and taught and lived in the beautiful building which is our main school building. The children learn about and are proud of the local history, which they feel connected to through stories passed on to them by local elders and residents in our history enquiry projects.
Our outdoor spaces play a large role in the children's learning. All of our students learn about and are involved in environmental, design and building projects and learn to sustain and maintain the natural environment. These lessons develop in the children a strong sense of responsibility and connection to the world around them.
With small classes our very experienced and dedicated teachers have the opportunity to give each student individual attention. Our philosophy is to educate the 'whole child' in all their capacities; physical, emotional and intellectual. Every student is encouraged and supported to fully participate in all learning experiences to develop a balanced growth.
Our school is proud of its outstanding sense of community where students, staff, parents and community members work co-operatively and with mutual respect. Together we research and review new and relevant learning methodologies and models to bring the best opportunities and choices to our community and to our students.
In 2017 our school will continue its proud history in education and celebrate a new beginning as a dual stream school delivering both Mainstream and Steiner Education.
"If you would like to know more about our dual stream school and OSHC please ring and make a time to meet with me. I would love the opportunity to talk to you about how special our school is and the amazing opportunities that we can offer your child." - Sybila Ford
